More About Auriculotherapy

Auricular Acupuncture has proved effective for the treatment of chronic pain, narcotic withdrawal, smoking, weight control, and hearing loss. Detection of clinical problems by auricular diagnosis has been reported for musculoskeletal pain and coronary disorders. A theoretical basis for these clinical finding has been provided by recent physiological investigations demonstrating that auricular electro acupuncture leads to the release of endorphins and ACTH.(The body’s own natural brain chemicals.)

History of Auriculotherepy

In the 1950’s He began to notice that several of his patients had an unusual scar on a specific area of the ear. The patients informed him that the scar was a treat for sciatica, which had given them relief within hours or minutes of treatment. After studying this phenomena and doing some research, he began mapping other reflex areas in the external ear relating other disorders and complaints. This was the basis for his diligent work to advance this technique to what we know today.
